Ski Kronplatz

Kronplatz, Bruneck's local mountain, is considered the number 1 ski resort in South Tyrol. This is not without reason, because from the summit, fascinating slopes open up in various directions, ranging from easy to challenging and leading directly into the picturesque valleys of the towns of St. Vigil, Olang, Percha and Bruneck. With a total of 121 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes and 31 ultra-modern lifts, Kronplatz has earned a name for itself as one of the world's leading ski destinations.

Here, visitors can expect not only an incomparable skiing experience, but also an impressive variety of slopes. Longer valley runs invite you to enjoy wonderful carving, while more leisurely slopes are also suitable for beginners and families. Good skiers can try their hand at five challenging black runs, which offer plenty of variety for the more experienced winter sports enthusiasts. Kronplatz ensures that the slopes are optimally groomed every morning, so that nothing stands in the way of unadulterated and wonderful winter fun for all generations.

Dolomiti Superski

  • What a force of nature. The Dolomites have not become a UNESCO World Heritage Site for nothing. And in winter these incredible formations are even more impressive than they already are in summer. Now, in all honesty, we have to admit that wherever there are lifts and ski slopes, the UNESCO decision did not grant them World Heritage status. And rightly so, we think. But that does not detract from the magnificent views throughout the entire Dolomiti Superski area, the world's largest ski network. The superlatives that we are about to reveal to you say everything about this very special skiing fun. We guarantee one thing: you can ski all day without having to use the same lift once. Skiworld Ahrntal

The two ski areas Speikboden and Klausberg together form the Skiworld Ahrntal, which offers an incomparable winter experience in the midst of the impressive Alpine landscape. With a total area of over 70 kilometers of slopes covering every level of difficulty, this area is ideal for both beginners and experienced skiers. The Speikboden ski area impresses with 32 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes, at altitudes between 1,000 and 2,400 meters. Another highlight is the Klausberg ski area, which is particularly suitable for families. With 30 kilometers of slopes and a wide range of varied runs, there is something for every taste. Here, beginners can gain their first experience on safe blue slopes, while advanced skiers can challenge the more demanding red and black slopes.

With the untouched panorama of the Ahrntal Alps and a wide range of leisure activities, Skiworld Ahrntal is the perfect place for a relaxing and sporty winter holiday. Whether you are a skier, snowboarder or pleasure seeker - everyone is welcome here!

cross-country skiing

However, the Pustertal is not only a paradise for skiers, but also an El Dorado for all ambitious cross-country skiers and, of course, for beginners. With its 200 kilometers of well-groomed cross-country ski trails, the Kronplatz adventure region attracts nature lovers and sports enthusiasts.

Perfectly groomed and snow-sure cross-country ski trails of all levels of difficulty can be found in Reischach and in the biathlon mecca of Antholz, in the wonderful high alpine village of Rein in Taufers or in the untouched Gsiesertal. The cross-country ski trails in the Kronplatz region are part of Dolomiti NordicSki, the largest cross-country skiing carousel in Europe. So many kilometers of trails – there is plenty of space to let off steam on the narrow boards.

After a sporty day on the cross-country ski trails, numerous huts and restaurants invite you to a well-deserved rest. Regional specialties and warm drinks pamper the cross-country skiers after a hard day's work. The Pustertal, with its charming villages and untouched landscapes, offers the perfect combination of an active winter holiday and relaxing moments in nature.

Tobogganing

Tobogganing in the Pustertal is an unforgettable experience that captures the winter magic of the Dolomites. Kronplatz offers snow-sure toboggan runs in Reischach and St. Vigil. The impressive view makes every ride a highlight.

At Speikboden, the toboggan run leads through picturesque forests with exciting curves and leisurely sections, ideal for experiencing nature up close. The cable car takes you comfortably to the top.

In Weißenbach in the Ahrntal valley, you have to walk for a good hour up through the forest. At the top, there are three alpine pastures that rent out toboggans. The descent, which is even illuminated in the evening, offers exciting moments in the curves. A winter fairytale and ideal for an excursion. The cozy and rustic alpine pastures offer interesting regional delicacies to enjoy.

Whether Kronplatz, Speikboden or Weißenbach – tobogganing in the Pustertal is an experience.

ice climbing

Ice climbing is also said to be the ice-cold passion of mountaineers. And indeed, this type of climbing on waterfalls that freeze in winter and form amazing formations is certainly the most spectacular of all. With crampons under their shoes, razor-sharp ice picks in their hands, secured with a harness and rope, the ice climbers appear to be heavily armed at first glance. But then the vertical dance on the tips of the crampons begins and for some it has almost become an addiction.

Rein in Taufers in the Ahrntal is considered a paradise for ice climbers. There are routes for beginners that can be easily secured, as well as extreme multi-pitch routes on vertical ice.

Inexperienced climbers are strongly advised to only attempt ice climbing under good supervision. It is not possible to do it on your own. The mountain guides in the Ahrntal valley often offer trial lessons for newcomers. They also bring rental equipment with them.
